Always Dreaming
Colt
We stayed disciplined, trusted the process and found a good horse for a good value.
THE NEWEST CHAPTER
The horse we were willing to wait for.
We went to the 2026 Keeneland September Yearling Sale prepared to buy—but only if the horse and the price were right. When they did not come together, we stayed disciplined and left without forcing a decision.
That work carried forward. At the OBS October Yearling Sale, we found Hip 97: a gray or roan colt by Kentucky Derby winner Always Dreaming out of the Cupid mare Outlining. We purchased him for $30,000.
A TRUSTED PARTNERSHIP
It started with a call from Wilson.
Dunamis Thoroughbreds owns this colt in a 50/50 partnership with our good friend Wilson Collindres. I was already in Ocala for a work trip when Wilson spotted him on the first day of the sale. Wilson fell in love with the horse and called me.
I dug up every piece of information I could find, and we agreed he was the one. The more we learned about him, the more we liked him.

WHY THIS COLT
Balanced. Athletic. Professional.
He presented as a balanced, athletic yearling with an attractive topline, depth through his girth and barrel, and a substantial hip and hindquarter. His walk was relaxed and ground-covering, with good reach through the shoulder and a hind leg that stepped underneath him.
Just as important, he handled himself professionally. He was cooperative, quiet in his body and gave us the impression of a young horse with the frame and temperament to move forward.

THE PEDIGREE ARGUMENT
We know we love the physical.
Always Dreaming's top runner is Saudi Crown, a Grade 1 winner produced from an unraced Tapit mare. Our colt is out of Outlining, a three-time winner by Cupid—bringing the Tapit sire line into the same position on the bottom side of the pedigree.
We will be candid: his immediate female family is the weak point of the page. That is also why we had a chance to buy him. Had his pedigree matched his physical, we likely would not have been able to afford him.
We love the physical, we can make an argument with the pedigree, and this is exactly the type of horse we are looking for.

Our colt and Saudi Crown.
Saudi Crown is the leading runner by Always Dreaming. The entire top half is shared, while the orange underlines identify the additional Tapit and Roberto connections on the bottom side.

Shared ancestors highlighted: Always Dreaming, Bodemeister, Empire Maker, Unbridled, Toussaud, Untouched Talent, Storm Cat, Parade Queen, Above Perfection, In Excess, Something Perfect—the Tapit branch through Pulpit, A.P. Indy, Preach, Tap Your Heels and Ruby Slippers—and Roberto, through Red Ransom in Saudi Crown and Kris S. in our colt.
WHAT COMES NEXT
Now the real work begins.
The sale is only the starting gate. The next step is to give him the patient foundation he needs—learning, developing and showing us who he is one day at a time.
We will continue to share the milestones and the lessons as his story unfolds. The official name will come later. For now, he is the newest reminder that preparation matters, patience matters and the right opportunity is worth waiting for.
